About Us
The Management Information System (MIS) is a comprehensive digital platform established by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE) under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) to systematically collect and monitor data from various drug de-addiction and demand reduction schemes.
The primary rationale for implementing Management Information System (MIS) is to address the need for reliable, real-time, and centralized data on drug abuse patterns, which enables evidence-based policymaking, trend tracking over time, and effective planning of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation programs across India.
It integrates data from key schemes under NAPDDR, including Integrated Rehabilitation Centres for Addicts (IRCAs), Outreach and Drop-in Centres (ODICs), District De-Addiction Centres (DDACs), and related interventions, covering not only admitted patients but also day-care visitors, community-identified vulnerable individuals, and hotspot details.
Beyond basic demographic and drug use profiles, Management Information System (MIS) captures broader information such as services provided, treatment outcomes, rehabilitation progress, and reintegration efforts, providing a holistic view of drug abuse through organized treatment sectors and community settings.
By requiring Grant-in-Aid institutions to update the platform regularly, Management Information System (MIS) promotes accountability, transparency, and performance monitoring while serving as a national repository for analyzing state-wise variations and emerging trends in substance use.
Ultimately, the system empowers policymakers, stakeholders, and functionaries at MSJE to make informed decisions, strengthen drug demand reduction strategies, enhance preventive education, and improve overall rehabilitation services based on accurate, ongoing data insights.
